When I was a young boy many years ago, my mother, Cathleen O'Regan, would bring me now and again to American Cyanamid. My mother worked there with about 7 women. One of those women was Irene. She always stood out because of all the women at the switchboard, Irene treated me like I was one of her own. My mother and myself have special places in our hearts for her. I was so saddened to hear about her passing. I know this is a bit late all these years later but Irene came up recently in conversation between my mother and myself because my father died this past Thanksgiving. May God bless Irene's soul and her family. She is sorely missed.

On December 8,heaven gained another angel and we lost a beautiful woman. A woman who you don't forget very easily. Bill,Chrissy,Micky,Danny and Kevin,I will never forget your Mom's smile and laughter. She was such an amazing and joyful person. My heart breaks that you are all suffering another loss. You held onto your Mom after losing your Dad. Now she too is gone. We all will never forget her......Love to all of you....Kathy Breen

Oh the memories. I first met Irene in l940, we were both workers at the bingo at Holy Cross Church, became good friends and she honored be when she was my date forour high school junior prom. During the war we dated and I picked her up at the AT & T building on Canal Street where she worked with her best friend Margie Clancy. My clossest friend was Bill Thys. When Bill returned from the Pacific where he was awaarded many medals forhis service in squadron VPB104. He immediately reconnected with Irene and I was fortunate to connect with her friend Margie (we have now been married for 65 years). Time and the responsibilities of married life caused us to lead separaate lives but the love is still there as strong as ever. Irene we love you, we have always loved you, we will always love you. Enjoy eternity with Bill

To all of the Thys family my thoughts and prayers to all of you on "Aunt Irene's" passing into God's hands, but know she is so happy being reunited with your dad after so many years. I loved watching she and my mom when ever they had a chance for one of their in person chats or marathon phone conversations that would span decades and always return to the telephone company, our Dad's and Brooklyn. The world has lost a great lady. Denise Jones
