Obituary of Kathleen Ann Carr

Kathleen "Cathy" Carr (nee Corr) Kathleen Carr, age 79, of Oakland passed away on January 7, 2018 with family by her side. She was the youngest child, born to Irish immigrants, Thomas and Kathleen Corr. Raised in the Bronx, NY and attended Cathedral High School. Met the love of her life, John J. Carr, when they both worked at Rockefeller Center, NY. A resident of Oakland for 50 years. She was active with Our Lady of Perpetual Help (O.L.P.H) school and parish, especially the Rosary Altar Society, and the Ladies Auxiliary of the Knights of Columbus. She was a bus driver for O.L.P.H. and a Crossing Guard for Oakland for 18 years. She is survived by her caring and devoted husband of 57 years, John J. Carr. Loving mother to Maureen (Philip) Tangel, John E. (Lynette) Carr, and Theresa Jones. Adoring grandmother to granddaughters Carissa Jones, Kasey and Kayla Carr and Danielle and Shannon Tangel. Great Grandmother to Isabela Mondragon. Dear sister to Sr. Maureen Corr (Maryknoll Sisters), and to sister-in-laws Margaret (Peggy) Carr and Alice Hoey. Predeceased by two infant sons, her parents, brothers James Corr and Thomas Corr, and brother-in-law James Carr. Family and friends may visit Friday from 2-4, 7-9pm at Oakland Memorial Home, 330 Ramapo Valley Rd, Oakland. Funeral Mass will be Saturday at 9:30am at Our Lady of Perpetual Help, 25 Purdue Avenue/Franklin Ave, Oakland with burial to follow at Maryrest Cemetery, Mahwah. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to Valley Hospital Hospice, 15 Essex Rd, Paramus, NJ 07652 would be appreciated.
