Dear Mary, Bill, Lauren and family,
I am so sad to hear Mr Ahearn has passed. I remember his big smile, his gentleness and of course his serving buckets of balls on the tennis court. He was dear to your family and will be missed.
My children and I are thinking of you and send our love.
Love Sonia, Oliver, Zac and Matilde

My heart goes out to Mary and Bill's loving family He was a fabulous guy that will surely be missed.
Although we haven't played tennis (mostly singles) in about 20 years, mostly at the Oakland courts where I met him by his lonesome; serving balls to an open court, we immediately swapped phone numbers and booked matches that filled many weekends from about 1978 thru the mid nineties.
Talk about a competitive guy, he WAS the real deal! Bill never gave up on any point, was a scrapper and human backboard at times, and would frustrate his opponents (like me) to no end. He was a digger and I can see him now hitting back-hands past the angels in heaven...Go Bill! hit em over the pearly gates, my good friend! Will miss you down here. God Bless You, Forever.
