My heart goes out to Mary and Bill's loving family He was a fabulous guy that will surely be missed. Although we haven't played tennis (mostly singles) in about 20 years, mostly at the Oakland courts where I met him by his lonesome; serving balls to an open court, we immediately swapped phone numbers and booked matches that filled many weekends from about 1978 thru the mid nineties. Talk about a competitive guy, he WAS the real deal! Bill never gave up on any point, was a scrapper and human backboard at times, and would frustrate his opponents (like me) to no end. He was a digger and I can see him now hitting back-hands past the angels in heaven...Go Bill! hit em over the pearly gates, my good friend! Will miss you down here. God Bless You, Forever.
