Julius (Jeanne) Wittwer (nee Dawal),86, of Oakland, NJ passed away on January 4th, 2018 at her home.
Visitation will be held at Oakland Memorial Home,330 Ramapo Valley Road, Oakland, NJ on Tuesday, January 9th, 2018 from 4:00pm to 8:00pm. Funeral service will be held at Oakland Memorial Home on Wednesday, January 10th, 2018 at 10:00 am with Reverend Thomas Lipnicki officiating. Ashes will be buried at Laurel Grove Cemetery of Totowa, NJ at a later time. Oakland Memorial Home will be handling the funeral arrangements.
Jeanne was born in Passaic, NJ to Julius and Teresa Dawal. Jeanne worked at a post office, then she worked as a bookkeeper for Manhattan Shirt Company in the 1950's. She would later work for Wittwer Well Drilling and Pump Service as a bookkeeper/secretary until 1997. Jeanne also had her real estate license. She enjoyed gardening, painting, and drawing. Some of her paintings were award winning at the art shows she attended. She was an avid amateur photographer. She did not enjoy being the subject of the photographs, but she loved to take pictures of her family, pets and nature. Jeanne enjoyed spending time with her friends and family especially baking with them. She was also known to help stray animals and the local rescue shelter.
Jeanne is survived by her sister, Lois, and their brother-in-law, Don. She is also survived by her nephews: Don and wife, Lisa, Robert and wife, Carrie, and John and wife, Molly; Nieces: Jeanne and husband, Tom, and Kris and husband, Joe; and all their respective children.
Jeanne was predeceased by her parents, her husband, Bill of almost 46 years, her sister, Vicki, and her brother-in-law, George.
Jeanne was a beloved wife, sister, aunt, grandaunt, godmother, and friend. She will be greatly missed by all that knew her.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to an animal shelter or to Parkinson's Foundation.
