Obituary of Ann P Capparelli

Ann Capparelli (née Cacciola), of Cliffside Park and Oakland, NJ passed away on 12/4/17. Born in New York City, NY, devoted wife of the late Vincent Capparelli (1989), and daughter of the late David Cacciola and Fannie Mortelleti Cacciola. Raised in Cliffside Park, she became drum majorette of her local high school band and was awarded the best baton twirler. Music was her passion. She could play the organ and keyboard, sing and dance. In her younger days, she enjoyed tap dancing. Ann attended Bergen Community College and graduated with a degree in Business Administration. In 1958, Ann and Vincent moved to Oakland, NJ, and lived there 44 years. She worked for the Ford Motor Co., and was a member of the Public Cultural Commission, Oakland Senior Club, OLPH Church, Ladies Auxiliary of the Knights of Columbus #5846, and the Young at Heart Club. She was inducted into the "Hall of Fame" in Cliffside Park, NJ for having the first triplets born in Bergen County in 25 years. Beloved mother of Judith Capparelli Fomen and her husband Robert, Diane Capparelli, Marilyn Capparelli Fredo and her husband Frank, and Vincent Capparelli. Loving grandmother of David Fomen, Michael Fredo and his wife Regan, Jaclyn Fomen Wacker and her husband Derek, Brian Fredo and his wife Brianna, and Adam Fredo and his wife Sara. Proud great- grandma of Parker Madison, Reese Emma, Joseph Allen, and Elliott Brian. Dear sister of the late Rose Cacciola Piombino, Mary Cacciola Serio, and Peter Cacciola. Ann survived all her siblings. Survived by her sister-in-law, Rose Fama Cacciola (wife of Peter Cacciola). Beloved aunt of Patricia Cacciola L'Homnedieu, Barbara Cacciola Lomuscio, Maria Cacciola Mantone, Carole Serio Pleus, the late Philip Serio, Roseann Capparelli, Gemma Capparelli Infante, and 12 great nieces and nephews. Ann lived at Cedar Crest for 15 years. She was a soloist in the Cedar Crest Singers. Activities included Stretch and Tone, going to seminars, movie nights and playing games. Her hobbies were ceramics, art, painting, reading and needlework. Visitors can pay their respects Sunday 2-6 PM at the Oakland Memorial Funeral Home in Oakland, NJ. Funeral Monday 11AM at Oakland Memorial Home. Interment will be at Maryrest Cemetery in Mahwah, New Jersey.
