Obituary of Frank Plesnarski

Plesnarski, Frank 92, On October 14, 2012, God sent his angels to escort from Emeritus at Wayne to heaven to join the love of his life, Rosie, who pre-decease him on April 20, 1999 after 53 years of marriage. Frank was born on September 09, 1920 in the small coal mining town of Minersville, PA to the late Paul & Mary(Szot) Plesnarski. Like many of his generation, Frank and his family, 3 brothers and 2 sisters, was greatly affected by the Great Depression, moving several times before settling in Jersey City, NJ. Frank developed a great love for the outdoors while growing up but especially while serving in the Civilian Conservation Corps near Park City, Utah. Although old injuries prevented him from serving in the armed services, Frank found his way to Pearl Harbor, Hawaii just after December 07, 1941, and as a diver, assisted in the raising and repairing of various ships including the USS Oklahoma. Upon his return to New Jersey, Frank went to work as a pipefitter for the American Can Company, Jersey City, NJ until his retirement in 1976. In 1946, Frank also fell in love and married Rose M. Andrejcak, and moved to Oakland, NJ where they raised 3 daughters and 2 sons. Frank not only loved the outdoors, but was an avid hunter and fisherman. Never missing hunting season, first near Margaretville, NY then at Crane Pond, Schroon Lake, NY , where one would always find him and his camper with the welcome mat out, a hot cup of coffee, and plenty of stories to share between September thru November each year. Frank also liked traveling and exploring the U.S., especially the western states, spending months on the road with his camper after retiring from his job. Frank is survived by his brother Paul and Ginny Plesnarski of Tom's River, NJ and sister Gennivieve Goch of Lynhurst, NJ; his children, Thomas and Bee-Lin Plesnarski of Clifton Park, NY; Carol Taylor of Colleyville, Texas; Fran and Wayne Bollen of Pompton Lakes, NJ; Gerald Plesnarski of Oakland, NJ; Elaine Martin of Sunbury, Ohio and grandchildren Craig and Sandra Bollen and Alex Bollen of Portland, Oregon; Brad and Anna Bollen of Highbridge, NJ; Katherine and Jon Ewing of Bozeman, Montana; Robert and David Taylor of Colleyville, Texas. Frank is also survived by many nieces and nephews and his beloved dog Cartman who took on the impossible job of filling the void in Frank's heart after Rosie died. The family would like to extend their deepest appreciation to the Doctors, nurses, and aides for the compassionate care provided by Valley Hospital, Ridgewood, NJ; St. Joseph's Hospital & Hospice, Wayne, NJ; Lakeview Subacute Care Center, Wayne, NJ; Hospice of New Jersey; Emeritus at Wayne, NJ; and Dr. Chandra Mangra of Haldon, NJ. The Family will welcome friends during calling hours on Friday, October 19, 2012 between 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Oakland Memorial Home 330 Ramapo Valley Road (Route 202), Oakland, NJ 07436 (201) 337-6161; Funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 20, 2012 at9:30 AM at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, 117 Franklin Lakes Ave, Oakland, NJ followed by interment at the Ponds Reformed Church Cemetery, Route 202, Oakland, NJ.
