Dr Wakai was our family dentist for many years. He was a very special man....gentle, kind and genuinely interested in his patients.

Herb and Dee Wakai were close family friends during my youth in Oakland. I was escorted to my junior prom by my classmate and their son Henry, and both our families shared many fond memories, with Dee being my mother's best friend for years. We will always hold Herb's memory dear to our hearts, and send Dee and the girls our heartfelt condolances.
My condolences to the Wakai family. Dr. Wakai was my dentist as well as my husband's and he will be greatly missed. Always caring, compassionate and a gentle physician. Going to his office was like visiting extended family and it will be difficult to find a replacement.
Dr. Wakai was an incredibly skilled, gentle, patient dentist and a warm, personable man who took pride in his work, loved his family, and greatly enjoyed life. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
