Anthony Thomas Caruso, known affectionately as Tony, passed away on September 3, 2024, in Pompton Plains, New Jersey, at the age of 89. Born on November 21, 1934, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Tony lived a long life of loving family, good friends and great food.
Tony spent 35 years working as a chef in various restaurants throughout New Jersey. He was known for his Chicken Scarpariello as well as his famous chocolate mousse. When not in a restaurant kitchen, Tony could be found at home in his kitchen cooking large meals for a table full of loved ones. After his career as a chef, Tony moved on to a new career working in the construction industry and retired from there to enjoy time with his children and grandchildren.
He is survived by his sons, Seth (Emily) and George (Ann) Caruso, and his granddaughters, Genna, Lia, and Olivia Caruso. Tony was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Georgia Caruso.
Tony's legacy is carried forward by his family, who remember him for his robust spirit. His life’s journey leaves a lasting imprint on all who knew him. He will be missed immensely.
