Obituary of Angela Houghton

ANGELA HOUGHTON

Angela Houghton, age 95, born Angela Katalinich of Baltimore, Maryland on 11/28/28, died in Shelburne, Vermont on 7/20/24.

Angela was predeceased by her husband, Thomas and oldest child, Michael.

She was survived by: her brother Michael and sister Joan; four children: Claire (Joseph), Tim (Lynn), Katie (Margaret), and Herb (Sue); seven grandchildren: Yoli, Ilana, Nicholas, Timothy, Justin, Alorah and Sabrina; four great grandchildren: Ryland, Vivian, Christofer and Nicolas.

Angela attended Catholic University of America where she met her husband Tom. Angela and Tom raised their family in Franklin Lakes.

Angela worked as Head Teller at National Community Bank, Note Teller at Bank of America and as bookkeeper at the Law Offices of Katherine G. Houghton (her daughter) in Paramus. She also worked part-time as the local Avon Lady.

Angela traveled to Maine, Italy, Monaco, Maui, Croatia, Cancun and the Bahamas. Angela and her family often vacationed at her lifelong love, Ocean City, Maryland.

Angela was a member of the Franklin Lakes Woman’s Club, an avid seamstress, cook, lucky gamer and puzzler.

We thank God for gifting us with Angela’s kindness and love and for reclaiming her and caring for her eternally.

Visitation will be at Oakland Memorial Home from 2pm-6pm on Sunday, July 28. Father Jack Cryan will celebrate the Mass of the Resurrection at Our Lady of Perpetual Help, Angela’s lifelong parish, in Oakland on Monday at 10am.
