Obituary of Frank E. Fay

Please share a memory of Frank to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Frank E. Fay, Jr. (Bud to a very few), of Doylestown, PA, passed away on November 12, 2016 at the Pine Run Health Center in Doylestown. Frank is survived by his six children, Tom (Barbara) Fay, Jim (Wendy) Fay, Eileen Vrabel Fay, Teresa (Augie) Steinhilber, Ted (Patty) Fay and Annmarie (Ray) Mangin, and his brother, Albert (Jane) Fay. Frank is also remembered with love and amazing memories by his fifteen grandchildren. Frank was born in Hempstead, NY, to Frank E. Fay, Sr., and Frances (Haubner) Fay. He was raised in West Hempstead, NY. Following his graduation from Hofstra College, Frank went on to serve in the US Army in Korea as a Master Sergeant. Upon returning home, he married Ann Marie (Sullivan) Fay. Frank and Ann were together for 62 years, until she passed away earlier this year. Their story of love, generosity, service, and family serves as an inspiration and a guide to all those who knew them. Frank was a gentle man, and simultaneously incredibly strong in principles. He was an active member of his community, serving others as a baseball coach, a member of the Board of Education, a leader in several Catholic Church CCD and related education programs, and for several years an active participant in the annual FLOW Follies fundraiser. His career took him from positions in banking to sales to human resources, including work at Union Camp and Gilman Paper Company in New York City. He ended his career as a consultant, serving clients as diverse as Woodlawn Cemetery and the New York School for the Deaf. After retiring to Ocean Pines, MD, Frank became active in the local Democratic Club, focusing on issues around helping the less fortunate. He and Ann later relocated to the Pine Run Community Retirement Center, where Frank was an active member of the Theatre Group and representing others on the Village Board. Frank's faith was very strong, and he faced his passing with an uncommon peace and surety that this next step in his journey was here, and he would soon be joining his "Annie". Those who knew him for a moment or a lifetime knew they had met someone who truly listened, and appreciated what a rare gift that was. His greatest pleasure was spending time with his family. While at the dinner table with the family, he would often state that he was rich with love, while his children rolled their eyes. Visitation will be from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM on November 18 at the Oakland Memorial Home at 330 Ramapo Valley Rd, Oakland, NJ. A mass celebrating Frank's life will be held at St. Mary's Church, 17 Pompton Ave, Pompton Lakes, NJ at 10:00 AM on Saturday, November 19. In lieu of flowers, please donate generously to either the Pancreatic Cancer Network (https://www.pancan.org) or the Honor Flight Network of Philadelphia (http://honorflightphiladelphia.org).
