Dear Lauren, Tina and Dave
I have so many wonderful memories of Mary, Lou and Tina from the time my family moved into New Milford almost 30 years ago. Its impossible to believe that so much time has passed. Living across the street from each other was like having my Mom and Dad across the street. Lauren, my oldest daughter, used to call Lou "Grandpa Lou" and every time she saw him outside the house she would run up to him and he would lift her and give her the biggest hug. Mary was so sweet. She would always invite us into her house for an offering of food or a "nice cold beer" or a short conversation (and anyone who knows Mary also knows that there is no such thing as a short conversation :). Julie, my youngest daughter would offer to take Mary's garbage out and Mary would always say "no" thinking that it was too heavy for her though Julie was twice the size of Mary. So funny. I remember once my family went away on vacation and I asked Mary if she would look after our dog Kringle. Of course Mary said yes as she always did. She would often tell the story as to how Kringle would hide under the couch when Mary came into the house and the only way she could get him to come out was to give him a McDonalds cheeseburger! Really? A McDonalds cheeseburger? Needless to say Kringle loved when Mary would watch him and his diet was never the same after. These are only a few of the stories. I have thousands of them and Lauren, (Mary's sweet daughter could attest to that). Mary was a second mother to me. Truly. I will cherish the time we spent laughing and sharing and talking. Where did the years go? Thank you Mary and Lou for all that you have meant to me and my family. I love you both.
