Obituary of William Edwin Drury

William Edwin Drury, beloved Uncle Billy, was born March 16, 1948, to the late William and Ethel Drury. The loving husband of the Arlene C. Drury (Nee Sullivan), passed on April 12, 2022, in Oakland NJ at the age of 74. Bill was a Vietnam Veteran who proudly served his country from 1967-1971. During his time in the service, he earned the rank of Sergeant and was honorably discharged with a purple heart as well as many service citations. Bill’s professional career started as an employee with the Erie Lackawanna railroad. He then went on to work for Hallmark Marketing Corp until he found his true passion as a landscape designer. After 20 + years, Bill ended his career as Project Manager at Somer’s Landscaping. Bill is preceded in death by his sister Patricia Frankle and brother Thomas Drury. He is survived by his brother Richard Drury and wife Linda of Waldwick, sister Mary McCrone and husband Peter of Demarest, sister-in-law Karen Sullivan of Bath, PA, brother-in-law Michael Sullivan and wife Janice of Mahwah, as well as many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews. Bill was a loving husband, son, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, great uncle, Godfather, and friend. He will be remembered for his handsome smiling face and his readiness to do anything for the those he cared about. Bill was deeply loved and will be greatly missed.
