Please share a memory of Dorothy to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Dorothy L. Enright, 86 of North Haledon, NJ, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Sunday, March 13, 2022.
Dorothy was born on November 16, 1935, in Queens, New York to Dorothy and John Lynch. She was a longtime resident of Oakland, NJ. Dorothy was predeceased by her husband Edward. Dorothy worked for the Oakland Public Schools and more recently in the office of Dr. Harvey Weiss. She either worked at or had a child or grandchild attending Manito School for over 40 years. Dorothy was happiest when surrounded by her children and their families. She was the proud grandmother to 10 grandchildren: Elizabeth, Megan, Katie, Gavin, Jacey, Lexi, Miguel, Lewis, Luke and Taylor. Dorothy was a longtime parishioner of both Our Lady of Perpetual Help of Oakland and St. Mary’s of Pompton Lakes. She was committed to service as a member of the Rosary Club, the Special Needs Adult Ministry, a Sunday School teacher, and a volunteer for several organizations including Valley Hospital Auxiliary and Ditto of North Haledon. Dorothy spent many years cheering for her children at the Oakland Recreation Fields so no one was surprised when she became a loyal fan of the Brooklyn Nets, but nothing could ever replace her great love of the New York Yankees. She was a devoted daughter, sister, wife and friend, but she was always a mother and grandmother above all things. Dorothy was adored by her 7 children and their spouses: Edward and Kelly, Kathryn and Robert, Jacqueline, James, Christopher and Jennifer, Susan and Ryan, and Timothy and Veronica.
Wake services will be held at the Oakland Memorial Home, 330 Ramapo Valley Rd., Oakland, NJ 07436 on Friday, March 18th from 4 pm – 8 pm.
