Obituary of Daniel Ray Priddy
October 30, 1987- January 18, 2022
It is with great sadness that we mourn the loss of a husband, son, son-in -law, brother, nephew and friend. Dan Priddy of Oakland, New Jersey passed away on January 18, 2022.
Born on October 30, 1987, he spent his early years living in Clovis CA where his love for the outdoors began. He was an avid snowboarder and road the slopes of Yosemite, Whistler British Columbia, and numerous east coast mountains. His was so happy to meet a fellow New Jersey snowboarder, Danny Kass that he designed a T-shirt with the Grenade logo. He went to Colorado for his first year of college where her snowboarded instead of going to English class. He was lucky to meet Stephanie Swords who loved the outdoors also and became his wife. They married on September 30, 2018 and moved to Oakland. He enjoyed spending time with his wife, Stephanie, whether it be a night in on the couch, a night out for dinner and a movie, or a vacation as close as Normandy or as far as Whistler and Hawaii. Up until his passing Dan was a faithful and well-loved employee with the Fair Lawn Water Department, where one of his important responsibilities was assessing the purity of the town water.
Dan had so many interests. He loved his dog Jersey, his cat Allie, hockey, music, concerts, and cars just to name a few. But most of all he was loving, thoughtful, kind and fun. Everything was better when he was around. He brought a light-hearted and happy vibe wherever he went.
Dan is survived by his wife, Stephanie Swords. Survived by his parents: Arnold Ray Priddy and Ada Priddy. Survived by his in-laws: Donna and Michael Swords. Survived by his siblings: Lieutenant Damian Ray Priddy of Westwood, N.J., Lisa Priddy Papenuik of West Milford, N.J., and Kendra Priddy Corrado of Kinnelon N.J, He will be missed by his uncles, aunts, cousins, many loving relatives, friends, and everyone who ever was lucky enough to cross his path.
Visitation services will be held on Friday, January 21, 2022, from 5-9pm at the Oakland Memorial Home, 330 Ramapo Valley Road, Oakland, New Jersey 07436.
