Obituary of Jeanne M Lubben - Souris
Please share a memory of Jeanne to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
On Saturday, October 9, 2021 the world lost a bright light. Jeanne Lubben Souris of Oakland NJ passed away from brain cancer at the much too young age of 61. She is preceded in death by her father Donald Lubben and brother John Lubben. She is survived by her loving husband Nikolaos Souris, her children Casey and Claudia Edision, her mother Helen (Horvath) Lubben, and sisters Susan (Lubben) Ananian and Jill (Lubben) Courville.
Jeanne was a beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend. She loved the outdoors, travel, theater, music and adventure. Her travels took her to Greece, Peru, Hungary, Spain, Thailand, Columbia, England and beyond. If you ever met Jeanne, you know she had the ability to light up the room and made everyone around her feel joyful. She was beautiful, stylish, kind, loving, generous, spiritual, brave, bold, caring, intelligent and witty. She always saw the good in people and tended to bring out the best in all of us.
On the weekends if she wasn’t hiking with her husband and dog, she would be hosting friends and family for dinner where the room would be full of laughter and stories. She had a knack for cooking prime rib and would gladly cook meat for her guests despite being a lifelong vegetarian. Not a holiday went by where she wouldn’t open her home to friends who may otherwise be alone. She gladly helped others with her time and money, even when she didn’t have much herself. She was just that type of person.
Those that loved her will always remember her radiant spirit and zest for life. Her flame burned so bright. She will be truly missed by her friends and family.
A memorial service will be held Friday, October 29, 2021 from 3PM to 5PM at Oakland Memorial Home located at 330 Valley Road in Oakland NJ. Due to the ongoing COVID pandemic, social distancing protocols must be observed, and masks must be worn by everyone participating in any aspect of the service.
