Rosalie (Rose) Grande, 97, of Oakland passed away peacefully on September 21, 2021, surrounded by her loving family. She was born to Eleuterio and Guadalupe Gerena in Vieques, Puerto Rico. Rose Married Frank Grande February 17, 1945. They had two children, Joseph and Carol. Rose retired from The Mandee Corporation in 1995 and, shortly after, decided to work for the Oakland School System where her kind-hearted nature and love of children filled her days. The simplest pleasures in life brought great joy to Rose. She loved spending time in the kitchen creating delicious meals and baked goods for her family. Her hobbies were knitting and sewing; and Rose had an uncanny ability to find happiness in her daily activities. Rose was a beloved Grandmother (Nana), mother and wife during her incredible 97 years. She couldn’t spend a minute with her grandchildren without telling them how much they were loved. Anyone who knew Rose was touched by her kindness. Loving mother to Carol and her husband Gerhard Lindenmayer. Adored Grandmother to Derek Lindenmayer, Justin Lindenmayer and wife Nicole. Cherished Great Grandmother to Logan Jackson and newborn Great Granddaughter, Alyssa Rose Lindenmayer Pre-deceased by her husband Frank Grande (October 1967) and a son Joseph Grande (March 2018) also three brothers Jerry Gerena Gus Martinez Mike Martinez and two sisters: Marie Harris and Lucy Cardona
