My deepest heartfelt condolences to Joe's family and girlfriend Carrie and Ali. I met Joe and Annmarie in the 90's through Joe's postal friend jim Dowd. We all shared our love for potbellied pigs. I'm sure he will be missed immensely. He was larger than life. Full of love and passion. We are all blessed for knowing him.

We are sending our deepest condolences to the entire family. He was a great man who welcomed us as extended family, and he helped put a roof over our heads when we had a house fire. He will truly be missed.
Sincerely,
Big Star, Faith, and Little Starr

Krissy, Kim, Joseph and family--I am with you in spirit today, my deepest condolences to all of you and your incredible loss. Uncle Joe was a larger than life kind of person. My first memory of him goes far back when he first met your mother so many years ago. I remember him pulling into our driveway with Annmarie in a huge car. I remember his tarantula, his iguana and most of all his hilarious stories. I remember fishing with him off our dock as a kid....he even kissed a sunny on the lips which made us scream and laugh. I remember the gigantic truck inner tubes he got for us to swim with, I remember the huge wriggling bag of snakes he brought us from Pennsylvania (they got away in the house almost immediately).I remember that he found the rotten can of worms I gave him for his birthday - forgotten in the trunk of his car - and used them to fish for eels. I remember he fixed my muffler with a piece of wire when it fell off our derelict Impala. I remember him bringing bags of homemade smoked jerky to Christmas Eve, I remember when he helped get me my first job in Oakland and when I visited him at the post office on my way home from work. I remember he got Kerri and me into a radio station sponsored Halloween party and we went as fat spiders (Kerri was pregnant)...we won! I remember holidays, laughs, barbecues, good times. I remember what a good grandfather he was. Later when he was sick, he was still the Joe I remembered. He pulled up his shirt to entertain the kids with his scar. He was always full of laughter, a joke, a story, with a twinkle in his eye. Joe will be missed by the family and friends who knew him. His passing will leave a huge hole for many. It is a good thing that there are so many rich memories to fill the space he leaves behind. I love you sweet cousins. Be comforted today. XOXO Eileen
