Obituary of Mary A. Bedder

Born September 21,1940 in Rockaway NYC daughter of Bertha and Ted Savas. Spent her childhood in the Rockaways and graduated from Far Rockaway HS with honors. Was employed in the fashion industry in NYC for several years before she met her husband and they were married November 26,1960 Her 1st son, Arthur was born in Rockaway November 9th 1961. Shortly thereafter the family moved to New Milford NJ where her 2nd son Christopher was born May 9th 1967 .Mary continued as a loving full time Mom and homemaker. Five years later Mary discovered Ringwood NJ and the family moved into a brand new home in which we still live. Her 3rd son Johnathan was born December 2nd 1971 .Soo her daughter joined us 5 years later. While continuing as full time Mom , Mary attended and graduated from Ramapo college ( Bachelor of Arts) and Drew University Master of Letters in 2002. Returning to her career, Mary worked in Human Resources for Western Union and then The Great Atlantic & Pacific Tea Company. Later she worked at several schools as a teachers aid for children with learning disabilities. Mary was also an author of a play “ Bonnie Blue Flag “ as well as numerous historically themed articles for local publications. She was active at St Mary’s Church in the Shawl Ministry and hats for new borns. Mary loved to travel and explore new places and ideas and had an amazing life. After a long battle with cancer, Mary passed on November 5th, 2020. She is survived by her loving husband Arthur, sons Arthur 3rd , Christopher, Johnathan, daughter Soo, 6 great grandchildren Madison, Dylan, Camryn, Lawrence, James,Samantha ,Daughters in law Elise, Kathy, Son in law Larry as well as many loving relatives and friends. Mary is not gone, just out of sight
