Obituary of Robert Michael Bovasso

Please share a memory of Robert to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Robert Bovasso, 80, died Tuesday, July 7, 2020. Robert was born in Jersey City, NJ to Louis and Mildred Bovasso. He married Rosie Marie Chiari (predeceased, 2009) and later moved to Wayne, NJ where they raised two children, Jennifer and Robert. He worked for Colgate for many years eventually starting his own business with a long time friend. He enjoyed coaching sports and attending hockey games with Jennifer, as well watching his son play drums in various bands. He also was a voracious reader and enjoyed the music of Dion, Springsteen, and the music of his youth, Doo Wop. He enjoyed his vacations down at the Jersey shore so much, that after he retired he purchased a home in Lavallette (which he had to rebuild after Superstorm Sandy). He and his partner, Mike (Kathleen) Damato also traveled extensively together as well enjoying quiet evenings on the patio at the shore. He is survived by his siblings Louis, Kenneth, Ronald, Brian, Maureen, and Seton, children, Jennifer and Robert, and partner, Mike Damato. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
