Obituary of Jenifer Heydinger Galante

Jenifer Heydinger Galante, 55, of Oakland, died Wednesday August 7, 2019 after a yearlong battle with glioblastoma brain cancer.

Jenifer is a 1981 graduate of Buckeye Central High School in New Washington, Ohio.  She graduated in 1985 from Ohio Northern University in Ada, Ohio with a B.S. in Chemistry.  After college she attended graduate school at the University of Wisconsin-Madison where she received her Ph.D. in 1990 in Organic Chemistry.  While at the University of Wisconsin, she met her husband Rocco and they were married in October of 1993.

She was employed as a senior research manager at Stepan Company in Maywood, NJ for 26 years.  She is the author of numerous patents, publications, presentations and book chapters in the field of food supplement chemistry.

Jen was a loving mother, wife and a caring friend. She brought light and laughter to all those that she met throughout her life. She was an avid reader of mystery novels and a loyal fan of the NJ Devils hockey team.

She was predeceased by her father Gilbert Heydinger of New Washington, Ohio.

She is survived by her husband Rocco J., son Rocco T., daughter Megan, mother Margaret, two sisters Joyce and Jeanie, and three brothers Ben, Roger and Andrew.

Visitation will be at Oakland Memorial Home, 330 Ramapo Valley Road, Wednesday August 14 from 4 to 8 p.m.  A mass service at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, 25 Perdue Avenue will be August 15 at 9:30 AM.
