William John Hoffman, 87, of Franklin Lakes, passed away on July 31, 2019 in Villa Maria Clair, Saddle River, NJ. Visitation will be 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm, Friday, August 2, 2019 at Oakland Memorial Home 330 Ramapo Valley Road, Oakland, NJ. Funeral services will be held at 9:30 am on Saturday, August 3, 2019 at St. Mary’s Parish 17 Pompton Avenue, Pompton Lakes. Burial will follow at Christ The King Cemetery in Franklin Lakes. William was born in Oradell to Anna and William Hoffman on July 23, 1932. He went to school in Oradell. He married Lucille Marie Saputo on September 22, 1962, at Our Lady of Mercy in Park Ridge, NJ. He worked as a Final Assembler for guidance and test systems for fighter jets and gyros at Honeywell, formerly Bendix, for 58 years. William received many recognition awards for his dedication and commitment during his time at Bendix. He served in the Navy as a Flagman on the deck of the aircraft carrier Kearsarge. William is preceded in death by his loving wife Lucille, his parents Anna and William and his three brothers Joseph, Robert, Daniel. William is survived by his children William and Maryellen Hoffman, Christine Dunay and John Ghia, his Grandchildren Brianna Elizabeth Hoffman, Katherine Mary Hoffman, Gabriella Lucille Dunay, Adriana Mary Dunay and Christine Nicole Ghia and his niece Linda Hoffman. Pallbearers will be William Hoffman, John Ghia, Kevin Reinhold, Shawn Warren, Zachary Schweizer, Peter Bayiokos.
