Norton, Joseph F., 76, of Ringwood passed away Nov. 5th after a brief illness. Beloved husband of Carol (White) Norton for 55 years. Devoted father of Carol Miller and husband John, Kenneth and wife Rose, Lisa Holton and husband Sean and Robert Norton. Loving grandfather of John & Elizabeth Miller, Patrick, Kyle and Caroline Holton. Born in Charlotte, NC. He is the son of the late Herman and Laura (Duncan) Norton. He graduated from Manhattan College in 1960 with a BS degree in Electrical Engineering and a MS degree from George Washington University. He spent many years in Telecommunications working for ITT and Western Union. He was an early pioneer in computer modem technology. He also was a past lector at St. Mary's church for many years. He will be sadly missed and remembered for his kindness, quick wit, honesty and devotion to his family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Michael J. Fox foundation for Parkinson's Research or charity of choice. Services to be held at Oakland Memorial Home 330 Ramapo Valley Road, Oakland, NJ. 07436. Arrangements by the Oakland Memorial Home.
