Gallup, Georgina "Jeanie" age 80 of Oakland passed away on October 15, 2015. Daughter of Lily and George Dobson, Jeanie was born in the District of Plymouth, England and was one of thirteen children. She is survived by her sisters Patrice and Barbara in England. Loving wife of Joseph Gallup, they were married for 53 years. Jeanie is also survived by their five children, Georgina "GiGi" Carroll, Christine Gallup, Andrew Gallup, Joseph Gallup, Matthew Gallup, and their families. She had 18 adoring grandchildren and a great granddaughter. Jeanie was an avid baker and attended University in England for culinary arts with a specialty in baking and cake decorating. She enjoyed sharing her art with friends and family as well as with volunteer organizations. Her family always came first but she brought joy to many with the generous gift of her time, creativity and talents. Jeanie worked at the Wyckoff Bakery and Shop Rite of Oakland's bakery department. Her volunteer work included being president of the Oakland Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. Jeanie was also actively involved throughout the years with her children's schools with PTA, PTSO, and PTO. After retirement, Jeanie was president of Young at Heart Senior Club of Oakland. Jeanie and her husband enjoyed traveling across of the United States in their motor home. Jeanie's favorite pastime was walking hand in hand on the beach with the love of her life, Joe. Jeanie will always be remembered for her vibrant personality and big heart. She requested that everyone wear vibrant colors to celebrate her life. Services include visitation at Oakland Memorial Home 330 Ramapo Valley Road Oakland, NJ on Wednesday 10/21/15 between the hours of 2:00 to 4:00 pm and 7:00 to 9:00 pm. A mass will be held on Thursday 10/22/15 at 11:00 am at St. Mary's R.C. Church located at 17 Pompton Avenue, Pompton Lakes, NJ. Jeanie's final resting place will be at Pond's Reformed Church Cemetery Ramapo Valley Road, Oakland. Donations can be made in Jeanie Gallup's name to The NJ Firemen's Home located at 565 Lathrop Avenue, Boonton, NJ 07005 (www.NJFH.org).
