Nancy A., 67, of Oakland passed away on September 28, 2015. Born in Columbus, OH, she was raised there until she relocated in 1968 to Wayne, NJ. She resided in Wayne for 20 years before moving to Oakland for 10 years and then to Greenwood Lake, NY for 9 years before finally returning back to Oakland for the remainder of her life. Nancy was the life of the party, and she was a much beloved bartender at many establishments over the years including the now closed RJ's Tavern in Oakland and Bill's Tavern in Butler, as well as The Rainbow in Greenwood Lake, NY. Nancy is survived by her son, Tony of Oakland; daughter in law, Danielle of Oakland; grandson, Tony, of Oakland; sister, Kay Herdman of Mechanicsburg, OH; brother in law Joseph L. Herdman of Mechanicsburg, OH; two nephews, Joseph M. and Timothy Herdman, and their wives, Shawn and Christy, all of Mechanicsburg, OH as well as several great nieces and nephews. The family will receive visitors on Thursday, October 1 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Oakland Memorial Home, Ramapo Valley Road, Oakland, NJ. A private memorial service and burial will take place on Friday, October 2. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Nancy Palumbo's name to either Passaic Valley Hospice in Totowa, NJ or the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network.
