Ruffing, Joseph Anthony age 86 of Pompton Plains, NJ on November 6, 2013. Born in Paterson he lived in Oakland, NJ. before moving to Pompton Plains. Beloved husband of Elinor (nee Lotter) Ruffing. Dear father of Gregory and William Ruffing. Cherished grandfather of Justin and Gordon. Devoted brother of the late Patricia Ann Cerne. Loving son of the late William A. and Mae (nee O'Hagan) Ruffing. Before retiring Joseph was CEO and President of a Chemical Corporation in Long Island, NY. A graduate of St Peters University, Jersey City, NJ and Stevens Technical Institute with a Masters Degree in Chemical Engineering. He was a long time member of the American Chemical Society and a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church Oakland, NJ. Joseph was also a US Navy Veteran of WWII Funeral departing Saturday from the Oakland Memorial Home 330 Ramapo Valley Road Oakland, NJ at 9:30 AM for a 10 AM Funeral Liturgy at Our Lady of Perpetual Help R.C. Church 117 Franklin Avenue Oakland, NJ for a 10 AM Funeral Liturgy. Burial will follow at George Washington Memorial Park Paramus, NJ The family will receive relatives and friends on Friday November 8, 2013 from 2-6 PM at the Funeral Home.
